Hoodia Trimspa

The former identity of the Trimspa diet pill was the same as that of any other diet pill. That is before Anna Nicole Smith became the Trimspa spokesperson. One of the components of the Trimspa formula was the stimulant herb Ephedra. The same is now banned in the United States and the current version of Trimspa is free of the herb, Ephedra.

Due to the many commercials showcasing the before and after affects of Trimspa on Anna Nicole Smith, the pill soon turned into the latest diet pill craze and is available off the shelf in drugstores across the country.

Another major component of Trimspa is the plant Hoodia gordonii. This plant is native to South Africa and has long been know for its appetite suppressant properties by the indigenous people. Also part of the Trimspa formula is a water-soluble dietary fiber that is an extract from the Konjac (Amorphophallus konjac) root. This extract is known as glucomannan, which expands in the stomach and reduces appetite by creating a feeling of fullness.

Although, Trimspa has fast become a best seller among diet pills, its popularity can attributed mainly to clever marketing, promotion and publicity. As a matter of fact, Trimspa has several drawbacks and side effects. The under mentioned points will help to highlight the above fact:

  1. Trimspa is expensive and you can end up spending up to $ 120 per month if you take the full dose of 6 pills a day.
  2. Each Trimspa pill contains 75 mcg of chromium and if you consume the recommended dosage of 6 tablets a day, you can end up consuming up to 450 mcg of Chromium. In addition to this, several vitamin supplement contain chromium too, this can rack up your chromium intake to 650 mcg per day!!
  3. Trimspa contains several green tea extracts and acts as a stimulant. If the same is consumed at irregular timings, it can cause insomnia, anxiety, restlessness and palpitations.
  4. Trimspa also contains a cocoa extract know as tyramine which can trigger migraines in people who are susceptible to the same.
Thus, Trimspa is merely a fancy name for a diet pill. And its negative effects and aspects far outweigh its benefits.

In fact, if one were to use Hoodia supplements instead of Trimspa, they can derive the same benefits without spending even half as much and suffering absolutely no side effects at all! Hoodia supplements will cost you less than $ 25 a month. As for fiber, all you have to do is increase your fruit, vegetable and whole grain intake or pick up inexpensive fiber supplements. Therefore, it is advisable to weigh out the pros and cons of any particular appetite suppressant before purchasing the same, especially when there is a natural, healthier, safer and cheaper alternative available!!
